What is Gambling Disorder?

We Know the Feeling is a program designed to help people understand gambling disorder. It is built on a model of empathy and self awareness, urging gamblers to recognize when they are getting out of control and reach out to us for help when they sense that feeling.

Gambling is popular: 83% of Americans gambled in the past year, and there is at least one form of legalized gambling available in 48 of the 50 states.

For most people, gambling is a social activity that is used for entertainment and recreational purposes. But some are not aware of the dangers of problem gambling or ways to avoid developing a problem.

Knowing what gambling disorder looks like is a good first step.
